Mpeketoni Killings Full Report
This is the report of HAKI Africa’s human rights fact finding team to Mpeketoni following the chilling spate of killings that occurred during the month of June 2014. The objective of the report besides detailing what occurred during the horrific attacks, is to highlight human rights violations that occurred and suggest what needs to be done to avert future similar incidences.
Introduction to Kenya Law Booklet
Several definitions have been put forward to explain what law is. Generally, law is any set of rules that guide the conduct of individuals/groups in a given set up and is enforced by those in authority. They include the Constitution, Acts of Parliament and/or rules. Law may start from the family and community levels, to national and international levels.

Killing and Disapperances in the Coastal Region of Kenya 2012 - 2016
Over the past several years, HAKI Africa’s time has been increasingly monopolised by what now feels like an epidemic of extrajudicial killings and disappearances perpetrated against Coastal Muslims. We have documented the best evidenced of these cases – 81 at the last count – in this report. There were several cases reported to HAKI Africa that due to lack of sufficient evidence, were not included on the list. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to believe that some cases of unlawful killing and enforced disappearance go unreported due to families’ fear of reprisals from state security forces and the stigmatising effect of it being known that a relative has been targeted by police.
