Said Abdu is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of extensive experience in finance, administration & accounting in the NGO sector and with the strong ability to make the tangible connection between organization and its financial performance for effective decision making.
He started working at Africa Geosurvey Ltd in August 2005 as a revenue assistant in Malindi, within a year he was promoted to a collections accountant and as at 2007 he left the company as a senior accountant before joining Council of Imams & Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) where he was tasked as project(s) accountant, satisfying donor reporting requirements i.e UNDP, British High Commission, UNFPA, DANIDA and other well-wishers. Being proficient in handling finance function entailing strategy, business plans, capital budgeting and MIS reporting, he helped CIPK expand from being a regional organization based in Mombasa to a National Organization with well recognized structures all over Kenya. This proves his ability to improve operations, impact organizational growth and maximize value for money through financial management, cost reductions and productivity improvements. He left CIPK in February 2018 as Head of Finance and Administration with extensive experience in conceptualizing and implementing financial policies and procedures including working capital management, internal financial controls, project financing and costing.
He was confirmed as Finance manager at Haki Africa in April 2018 and now head of Finance and Administration department from January 2019. Now a key member of the management team assigned to turn around the organization’s expansion goals from the point of divesting to re-engineering. He is now implementing and monitoring financial policies for effective compliance in Haki Africa and is responsible for institutionalizing financial controls for effective cash flow management.
