Mombasa Justice Actors Training on Countering Violent Extremism

HAKI Africa organised a 2 days justice actors training on human rights based approaches when preventing and countering violent extremism. The training is aimed at enhancing the skills of justice actors in applying Human Rights Based Approaches to justice and security. This will create new avenues for providing help to vulnerable groups as well as promote social justice.
In day two, HAKI Africa together with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Kenya  hosted the County Commissioner of Mombasa Mr. Gilbert Kitiyo at the closing ceremony of the justice stakeholders training on Countering Violent Extremism in Mombasa.

During the training, stakeholders recognized the need to enhance access to justice and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms for all, including women, children and marginalized populations.
The training was well attended by representatives from the judiciary, police, prisons, probation, justice centres, IPOA, KNCHR, LSK, County Government and Inspectorate among others.
