Search for Common Ground (SFCG) in partnership with HAKI Africa is implementing its project named as  INUKA which is a comprehensive youth-focused community peace building action across the Coastal region of Kenya over a period of 36 months.

The overall objective of the project action was to increase the effectiveness and inclusiveness of community peace and security efforts involving vulnerable and marginalised youth in Coastal Kenya. The action Bias contributed to the three interrelated specific objectives and corresponding expected outcomes outlined below:

  •  Strengthen the capacity of and coordination among community-based youth and youth groups to be more active and effective in peace and security efforts in their communities.
  •  Participating young men and women are more aware of the sensitivities and risks involved in certain security challenges and are better prepared to mitigate them and protect themselves.
  • Increase awareness of target communities of the potential of at-risk youth to positively contribute to peace and security.
  • Create opportunities for at-risk youth to engage with youth peers and with local leadership in support of community peace and security efforts.
